Victoria Stadium
Ticket
At the point where the Mediterranean Sea meets the Atlantic Ocean lies UEFA's newest member - Gibraltar. Gibraltar is not only the most densely populated area on earth but also has numerous soccer clubs based in the country. However, since there is not enough space to build a separate stadium for each club, all league matches are played at Victoria Stadium.
What was more distant than with the visit of the game equal times all stadium of Gibraltar to do ;-)
But before one devoted himself to the game, one looked of course also still at the Affenfelsen vorbei and could make themselves so on the way around the mountain a beautiful picture of Gibraltar. Unfortunately, the sky then opened its floodgates and it poured like from buckets. After all, the weather god meant it graciously with us and we managed to get halfway dry in the sports bar next to the stadium.
There, numerous fans of West Ham United had already gathered to watch the game against Swansea. Mood came up there only little, West Ham lost the game but with 1:4. A joyful outcry prevailed only as darts professional Terry Jenkins entered the pub and approved a pint to play a small Exhibiton against a few kids in the connection.
The way to the stadium was then not far - thank God, because as we quickly realized, there was no drink sales in the stadium, so they returned to the pub again to take a takeaway beer. In the stadium just under 100 people had gathered to watch the game between St. Josephs FC and Glacis United FC. While St. Jospehs around a place at the Liga-Stockerl plays along lies Glacis United rather in the lower table region.
From the beginning the difference in performance was also to be noticed, but St Josephs could not convert this superiority into high-profile opportunities or goals. So it remained at the break with a 0-0. After the break, however, the game should be more lively and a own goal sorge then for operation on the field, because Glacis United came so surprisingly to the lead. After that, St Josephs pressed and came to the deserved equalizer.
Danch a second of shock on the field. After a duel, a player went down and remained motionless - although he came to shortly after, but was then still brought to the hospital by the rescue. Meanwhile, the game continued and Glacis took the lead again after a really nice attack. Now the home team threw everything forward and came again to equalize.
Another goal should not fall - Glacis United secured a point against a stronger, but in attack too harmless home team. The second half compensated for the meager kick in the first half. Nevertheless, but somehow a pity that you have not watched the evening game on the same day. The ended namely 1:16 (!!!)...
