Griffin Park
Ticket
After the last visit in Griffin Park a few years ago due to some orientation problems and individual inabilities (time change) only became a short visit, one wanted to use the stay in London to eliminate this gap. In addition, two Austrians are now lacing up their boots for Brentford. In addition to the ex-Admiran Kerschbaumer were also Marco Djuricin lent by Red Bull Salzburg.
To similar orientation problems from the way to go one planned this time a journey by train. Since one met already early on properly adjusted fans, which one could follow without problems was thus the timely arrival times ensured. Also the tickets could be picked up quickly and easily and so there was still enough time to enjoy a freshly grilled burger and a beer in one of the four "corner pubs". After a small chat with the landlord, who praised Djuricin ("The Austrian") over the green Klee gings in the stadium - finally one did not want to miss already again almost everything.
The stadium itself had not been conspicuously adapted despite several promotions - at the last visit, the Bees were still playing in League 4 - but has thus retained its British charm. Scarcely 12,800 spectators holds this stadium and thus the stadium with well 10,000 fans - of it approx. 1500 from Sheffield - was well filled.
Brentford had failed last season only in the playoff at a possible Premier League ascent. Accordingly hopeful one went into the season - so far the start was however somewhat mau and one dümpelt in the lower table third around. The opponent wanted to use this of course - especially the third Austrian on the field: Adthe Nuhiu.
And this was also the probably game-determining scene had. After it went back and forth for half an hour with slight advantages for Sheffield, Nuhiu was laid in the penalty area. He converted the ball himself to give the visitors a 1-0 lead. In addition, Alan Judge was sent off, which naturally gave the visitors more space and subsequently more chances. In addition, there were some really hair-raising mistakes by the Brentford defense. So it was almost surprising that before the break no further goals fell.
After the break, the pressure of Sheffield rose and so it was then surprising that after a wide discount of the Brentford goalie the worth seeing equalizer succeeded. And when then still shortly thereafter the substitute Jeremy Helan was put from the field, fans and players mobilized once again everything to bring in the home victory. But symptomatic of the game served a gross defensive error in injury time the guests the victory on a silver platter.
The away fans celebrated this of course frenetically, while the home fans nevertheless said goodbye to their team with applause. The board showed but rather little pleased and fired two days later the coach...
