UEFA Europa League
WWK Arena
Ticket & Statistics
For a short groundhopping trip over the weekend, a game of the Europa League always offers itself well as a start. Especially when this takes place in neighboring Bavaria.
On the program was the home game of the FC Augsburg against AZ Alkmaar. Augsburg was surprisingly 5th in the Bundesliga in the preseason and qualifies me thus directly for the group stage. In the current season, one lags in the Bundesliga still behind and also in the European Cup one came so far not yet in drive. In the last round, however, they managed a narrow 1-0 win against Alkmaar. So the signs were good that it could work this time.
After you had approved a few "happy hour beer" in the city center, you made yourself with the streetcar on to the stadium. The connection is really excellent. For the game days, a separate stop was opened, which is located just under 10 minutes away from the stadium on foot. Thus, the stadium is hard to miss.
Before the start of the game, Augsburg showed a choreo that went over the entire back gate grandstand and was held in the colors of Augsburg. In addition, the banner "Männer, das wird unsere Nacht" was presented - which should turn out to be a good omen for the game.
