Stadio Artemio Franchi
Ticket & Statistics
Actually, one wanted to target the game against FC Parma during the stay in Florence . Since the Europacup draw but meant well with us, they took the opportunity to look at the semifinal second leg of ACF Fiorentina against FC Sevilla. Since a ticket purchase over the Internet was not possible, one used the first day of the stay with a small Spaziergung across the city to the Stadio Artemio Franchi to queue in the ticket store for tickets. The passport must not be missing in Italy, of course, finally everything must have its Ordnugn ...
The next day one made himself then first on a small cultural excursion to Siena of where it then with the train directly to the station Firenze Campo Marte. Despite the 0:3 defeat in the first leg and the thereby rather minimal chances of promotion made more than 30,000 spectators on the way to the stadium to support their club.
The stadium itself is like most stadiums in Italy rather in a - well, let's say nicely expressed "rustic" - condition. The back-goal stands are very far behind the goal and also parts of the long stands protrude far behind the goal line. Covered is only one of the longitudinal grandstands what might cost in bad weather probably but the one or the other spectator ...
Despite the meager starting position, the fans were quite optimistic and so the team was greeted frenetically and with fervor the club anthem "Oh Fiorentina" intoned. Accompanied by one or the other pyrotechnics insert, one provided a great atmosphere, which the approximately 200 traveling fans from Spain had nothing to oppose.
Also the team started fulminant in the game and one had the impression as one wanted to achieve the necessary 3 goals already in the first quarter of an hour. But ultimately one failed again and again at the conclusion. After a corner, Fiorentina had the greatest chance to score the first goal, but Sergio Rico in the Sevilla goal parried the ball brilliantly. Shortly after, however, a blunder in the defense gave Sevilla the 1-0 lead. The goal came practically out of nowhere, but Fiorentina kept up the pressure. After all, they would have needed 4 goals to advance anyway - excluding the penalty shootout. But shortly after, the next gross defensive error made it 2-0 for the visitors from Spain. The preliminary decision in this game.
Some fans now already left the Stadionen and at halftime more followed. But Fiorentina continued to play forward with pressure, but the goal remained boarded up. Even when you got a penalty allocated the ball was shot miles away across the goal. Now it was enough but very many fans. One left the stadium, the other clapped derisively every ball contact. After that, the game just rippled along. Sevilla still had some counter-attacking opportunities, but partially bungling forgave what but because of the superior advantage no influence on the end had.
Sevilla won at the end of the day clearly with 2:0. At a slightly more favorable course of play would have been this evening for Fiorentina but certainly more in it...
