EFL Championship
Craven Cottage
Ticket
After the match days this weekend had rather stiffened on Saturday dates, remained for the Friday only Fulham as an alternative. Although one was there already a few years ago in the Craven Cottage, but at least a derby against Charlton Athletic was on the program. So there is worse ;-)
The evening play date allowed us to hang out in the afternoon still because tennis fan and make a Wimbledon tour. Subsequently, there was then for us instead of champagne and strawberries rather beer and chips in a pub in Wimbledon. Afterwards we took the subway to Craven Cottage. On the way there, one met along with numerous fans of the home and away team also a good police contingent, but they only showed presence and were also available for the one or other photo.
The stadium had surprisingly not changed since the last visit. Still had to take a seat on wooden folding chairs, which makes the flair of this stadium but also. The atmosphere in the stadium was very good, which was also due to the filled away sector of Charlton. On the pitch, however, it was Fulham who quickly ensured a clear situation. After a quarter of an hour, it was already 2:0 for Fulham and Charlton could not keep up for long stretches of the game. Letzten Endes fell shortly before the end also the 3:0.
A deserved victory by Fulham, who after the sacking of Felix Magath finally seem to get going and have now left the relegation ranks. After the game, a longer ride on the subway was waiting for us, which lasted even longer than expected thanks to various route renovations and signal failures. Since also a stopover in a pub in Earls Court helped nothing, because even after that we were stuck again in the subway. Ultimately, we managed it then but still back to the hotel to give us a few hours of sleep for the next day ...
