Jupiler Pro League
Stade Constant Vanden Stock
Ticket
Actually, we had planned a Club Bruges game as our second game in Belgium. But our trip to Bruges literally fell into the water. Continuous rain "En Bruge" prevented a sightseeing and would have forced us to wait over six hours in a pub for the Spielbeginne. That we would not have survived without consequences was clear, and so we still find the way back we broke off the groundhopping attempt in Bruges.
But at least the RSC Anderlecht on Sunday also had a league game against KVC Westerlo, so we still came to a second game in Belgium. Since we now already knew the circumstances of the first game, we marched early to the stadium to buy on the one hand the cards for the game and on the other hand a few Jupiler in the pubs to tweet.
After it had pleased us in the "La Mi Temps" at the last visit well and one had met there also a few nice RSCA fans (nice greetings to our friends in Bruxelles at this point), we headed of course immediately again this location. Finally, we had to return the favor for a few rounds ;-)
After a few beers, we said goodbye in the direction of the game but had to promise to come back at halftime (!). The first minutes of the game we had missed, but not much had happened anyway. The away mob was in contrast to the Athens game rather sparsely represented - but the police contingent was in my estimation twice as high. Happened but nix.
On the field, however, already. After an alleged assault of the Anderlecht player Jan Polack pulled the referee already in the 17th minute the red card - a little too hard decision. But the game after thereby, of course, some momentum. Westerlo used the free spaces now a little better and now also came again and again dangerously in front of goal. Nevertheless, it was Anderlecht by the Belgian youngster Lukaku in the lead and this also brought into the half.
As we had promised we wanted to look now in the half again in the pub. As we were surprised to find that should be but garkein problem, but thousands of spectators poured onto the streets to consume their snacks and Bierchen outside (which also explained the meager selection in the snack shacks in the stadium). So far, we had not seen anywhere - and is according to various information also a uniqueness in the European top soccer ...
It was easy to get out, only pure we would then almost no longer come. Who should also know that one must stamp out with the ticket to be able to enter later again... - In the end, the stewards had mercy on us ignorant people and let us back into the stadium where we saw a goal from Westerlo - but Mravac scored into his own goal. So Anderlecht won with 10 men with 2-0 and moved in the table again further to the top of the table.
The previous beers and the final Pintjes showed then on the way home but their effect and so one got in the wrong direction in the subway (although we would have been originally right) and made so still an unwanted trip through the Brussels subway network. Ultimately, we made it to the hotel and ended a successful groundhopping trip to Belgium.
