EFL League One

So, on this day, a Football League One (3rd division) match was on the agenda. Our journey took us to the famous (or even more infamous) FC Millwall in South Bermondsey. As the match was not until the evening, we wanted to visit the London branch of the Linz snack bar "Leberkas-Pepi" beforehand.
The search for it turned out to be a bit difficult, as the location was not exactly conducive to business. This was also noticeable in the rather sparse attendance. In the end, only a few Austrians turned up to enjoy Leberkäse and Stiegl beer, a somewhat unusual treat for England. But due to the London weather conditions (and the beer) we felt very comfortable there, and so almost the whole afternoon was spent there, which in the end increased the alcohol level a bit.
So it came as it had to come and we had to stress ourselves to get to the game in time. So we quickly got on the tube and went to the station and quickly bought tickets to South Bermondsey. As we were wandering around the station a bit haphazardly, a conductor recognised our problem and after a short question ("Football?") showed us the way to the right train.
On arriving in Bermondsey, we immediately got an impression of Millwall FC's past. From the station - almost all the way to the stadium - there was a completely fenced-in path. There were also bars above our heads. So it must have always been a bit of a queasy feeling to travel away to Millwall FC.
The game itself was like the weather - shitty. It was pouring and the temperatures were dropping towards zero. This was also reflected in the kickers. If it hadn't been for the red cards, not much would have happened. In the end, Millwall won through with a goal just before the end.
On the way back, there was the first October snowfall in London for 60 years (or so). Another highlight at the end of the day ;-)
