The Hawthorns
Ticket
The next game was West Bromwich Albion against Swansea - where the Austrian Besian Idrizaj sat on the bench - on the program. Since they still had to buy tickets, they drove a little earlier to the stadium to get the tickets there. After initial difficulties, one could finally secure the tickets and now went in search of a pub.
As one sus learned from the mistakes of past trips, we had this time pubmäßig well prepared for the game in West Bromwich. With precise directions should be on site but a pub to find. But somehow the pub didn't seem to exist anymore, or even groundhopping guides contain mistakes. In any case, we could not find a pub.
In the end, a local led us to a distant (somewhat dubious) pub. At the beginning they didn't want to let us in, but when the local introduced us with "They're okay", we went anyway. Some fans had already gathered in the pub. The ambience was a bit poor. The benches were cut open, the toilet was a nightmare of the trade inspectorate - but the people were okay and the beer was good. In that sense, a complete success.
The stadium itself was well attended. We sat opposite the away section, which was also well filled. Actually surprising, considering the long journey from Wales. But the fans should not regret the journey, because ultimately they were allowed to cheer a 1-0 victory.
As Swansea scored the 1-0, jumped up two rows in front of us three Swansea fans and cheered extensively. This did not let some fans offer and so it came to a small brawl, but it was quickly ended by the stewards. The Swansea fans were brought into the guest sector and the game then went smoothly.
