The conclusion of our little tour of Bavaria was a visit to SpVgg Unterhaching, where the Austrian Ralph Hasenhüttel is engaged as coach. The match was held as part of a family Sunday. Around the stadium there were stalls with games, the mothers of the young footballers had set up a cake buffet and an Olympics was organised by the young visitors. A really nice ambience...
We got ourselves a hop drink in the canteen and then decided - as a prelude, so to speak - to watch the U8 match of Unterhaching. The fun factor was high, after all, there were some funny scenes and referee decisions to watch there.
The stadium itself has two covered long stands and behind the goals two standing-room stands built on a concrete base. The football stadium flair is here. It would probably no longer be suitable for the Bundesliga, but it would still be a good stadium for the second division. Almost every Austrian second-division team would be glad to have a stadium like this.
