Veltins-Arena

Our last stop in Germany was the "Arena auf Schalke" or "Veltins-Arena". The grounds are very extensive and house the training area, the club premises, the fan shop and also the old park stadium.
Around the stadium there are food stalls that feed people with beer, bratwursts, etc. The fan shop is very large and you can buy a lot of food. The fan shop is very large and you can find everything your Schalke heart desires. The stadium deserves the name "arena" - it is more like a "dome" known from American football. The roof can be closed if necessary, so the hatch itself is very small. The cube in the middle of the stadium is also more reminiscent of American conditions than a football stadium.
But personally, I can't do anything with stadiums like this. It simply reminds me too much of a hall than a football pitch. Furthermore, you have the feeling that an air-conditioning system or something is running - somehow a hall feeling. But since the stadium is also used for various other purposes (ice hockey, boxing events, concerts, etc.), it certainly serves its purpose. But not everyone has to like it.
