Supercoppa Primavera
Gewiss Stadium
Ticket
Actually, we wanted to watch the match between Bergamo and Udine the day before. We bravely queued for tickets for an hour, only to see a few groundhoppers from Poland buy the last tickets from under our noses. So we had to watch the game in a nearby pub with a few bottles of wine. The fact that the game ended in a 7:1 scoreline was even more bitter.
But as luck would have it, the next day Atalanta's junior team was playing the Supercoppa Primavera at the Gewiss Stadium. So we made our way to the stadium again, only to see another queue in front of the ticket office. But this time it worked out with the tickets. Of course, we took the opportunity to watch the match from the better seats of the stadium.
In the first half, it was an even match with chances on both sides. The second half was more eventful. Shortly after half-time, Roberto Piccoli gave the home side the lead. But just two minutes later, a foul resulted in a penalty for the visitors from Florence.
But Atalanta were not impressed and continued to play spiritedly and regained the lead in the 63rd minute through Emmanuel Gyabuaa. After that, Florence tried everything, but Bergamo's defence stood firm and was able to fend off the final attacks. In the end, Atalante celebrated a jubilant victory in the Supercoppa Primavera.
Even though fewer goals were scored than in the originally scheduled match, this game was still a worthy substitute...
