Of course they also wanted to use their holiday in Athens for another ground. Atromitos Athens even ended up being a match with an Austrian connection, as Damir Canadi is the coach there.

After we had enough time before the start of the match, we planned to walk to the stadium and visit a few pubs. Unfortunately, we had not looked at the route carefully beforehand, because there was no pub to be found on the way to the stadium. As there were no cold drinks in the stadium afterwards, the whole thing was a rather dry affair ;-)

The stadium itself is located in the middle of a residential area and is unfortunately also equipped with a running track. Although Athens even managed to qualify for the European Cup, spectator attendance was rather lukewarm. But that could also be due to the lack of drinks.

Atromitos dominated the game from the start and took a deserved lead in the 21st minute through Juan Angel Neira. After that, they tried to manage the game, which led to a rather tepid character. Shortly before the end, Ismail Sassi made the decision and the fans could celebrate the team.
